Fundamentals of Neuroscience (Biol 6115 NA) This course covers the molecular and cellular basis of neuronal function. The course explores the biological basis of the nervous system, with an emphasis on the how neurons communicate. The structural and functional basis of signal transduction is examined, as well as the electrical and chemical forms of synaptic communication. In a broader context, the sensory systems that organisms employ to communicate with their environment is examined. We'll use the current scientific literature to broaden our understanding of neuronal function and pathology.
